Message straight from Arts in Rustington Community (A.R.C.). Exciting artist exhibiting, selling and studio opportunity.
Please message ARC direct....
Arts in Rustington Community
A.R.C.
In the Summer of 2012, a group of artists
and craft people opened a ‘pop-up art gallery and community shop’ in an
empty shop in The Street, Rustington.
The Shop ran for two weeks and the response from the Rustington community
was very supportive. The potential for
such a community, arts & crafts centre in Rustington was evident. Since that time a group of enthusiasts have
met and planned in order to establish a permanent community arts centre in
Rustington. It is hoped that it will be a thriving centre
for artistic ventures in Rustington; a hub for an art trail and a social centre
for all generations to learn new crafts and skills.
The name of the Group is Arts in the Rustington Community, A.R.C.
The A.R.C. Group have now identified a
possible venue for a permanent Art &
Craft Community Centre and need expressions of interest from artists and
craftspeople who would like to participate in the new venture. It is intended The
Centre will open Wednesdays to Saturdays, 10.00 am to 5.00 pm from Wednesday
2nd April 2014.
There will be:
·
At least thirty
display spaces* for art and craft work contracted at a cost of £10 per week,
payable 3 months in advance. * Displays will be moved regularly for fairness
·
10%
Commission will be charged on all sales
·
Each Contract
will include a commitment of one day per month staffing the Gallery.
·
Opportunities
for volunteers to participate in the management of the Gallery, in the
fund-raising, the display and as sales staff.
·
Four first-floor studios for artists to rent at
approximately £90 per month,
·
Opportunities
to lead or to attend talks and workshops
ARC will be a non-profit-making venture and
the development of a Gallery and Community Centre is dependent on community
support and volunteers. We need 30
Artist/Makers to commit to taking spaces in order to break-even.
We need commitment now, so if you would like to see the Arts
in Rustington Community Centre become reality or if you can offer some help,
please complete the Form below by 31st December and return to:
